Description: A fine relief sculpture by renowned wildlife artist Gerrit van Schouwenburg, depicting a rhinoceros in a powerful side-profile stance. The work showcases the artist’s mastery of texture, particularly in the rugged folds of the rhino's skin and the weathered bark of the accompanying acacia-style tree. The piece is finished in a rich metallic bronze overlay with a deep turquoise verdigris oxidation effect, creating an antique, atmospheric aesthetic. Van Schouwenburg, a student of the master sculptor Laura Rautenbach, is celebrated for his ability to translate the raw energy of the African wilderness into three-dimensional forms.
