Yvette Polovin is a Cape Town based fine artist and ceramicist with a degree in Ceramic Design from the University of Johannesburg

She taught pottery and craft for many years from her Johannesburg studio and at Crawford College in Sandton

Her work has featured in national ceramics exhibitions, where she received highly commended recognition, and she has created commissioned ceramic murals for private homes and public spaces

Since moving to Cape Town, Yvette has exhibited her oil paintings and mosaics at venues including AVA Gallery, Rust-en-Vrede Gallery, The Bay Hotel and The Cape Gallery

Inspired by sky, water and landscape, she often incorporates mystical elements to express the emotion and spirituality of a scene

Her recent work includes paintings on shweshwe and other patterned fabrics

She also teaches mosaic art to seniors in Sea Point
