CLOSING BID
Artist: Jana du Toit (South African, born 1945). She is well-known for her vibrant floral studies, particularly her "Famous Cosmos" series, and scenes of the Western Cape.
Subject: A bouquet of Cosmos flowers in various shades of pink, purple, and blue. This is a signature subject for this artist.
Medium: Likely Oil on board (or acrylic). The close-up image shows heavy impasto (thick application of paint) in the centers of the flowers, which is characteristic of her style to create a 3D effect.
Dimensions: 57cm x 46cm.
Provenance: This is an original work signed by the artist in the lower center.
Frame Condition: The frame appears to be a vintage wooden frame with a gold inner trim. It looks to be in good condition with minimal visible scuffing, though there is some light dust and aging typical of mid-to-late 20th-century frames.
