Decorative Decoupage Ostrich Egg with "Big Five" and Hondius Map Motif
Description: A genuine ostrich eggshell featuring a high-gloss decoupage finish. The design includes a detailed wildlife scene of the African Big Five and a reproduction of a historical 1631 Henricus Hondius map of Africa. The egg is set upon a circular, hand-carved dark wood stand depicting various African animals in relief.
Condition Report: The egg shows a visible vertical hairline crack extending from the top aperture (see DSCN2905). Some minor wear to the lacquer and base consistent with age.
Dimensions: Approximately 15cm (height of egg) plus stand.
Estimate: R150 - R300
